Moosemaids and Other Lesser-Known Underwater Species - completed May 2020
This collection of pencil and watercolor wash illustrations was born out of merMay, an annual Instagram drawing challenge. I started with bunMaids - I often post rabbits on my socials the first of the month. After bunMaids I moved onto purrMaids - a well-known internet phenomenon… but I couldn’t stop thinking of other animal/mermaid mashups. Once I did, my friends pitched in, helping me come up with unacknowledged members of this underwater kingdom. See the series here.
